277 Front St W, Toronto

On 277 Front Street West in Toronto, Ontario, people can find a lovely little pub called the Pint Public House. The plenty of TVs, the real 20oz pints and the 40 different sauces that serve with their pub fare make this quite the popular place to hang out, enjoy a meal and watch the game.

There is limited parking in the underground garage, but seeing as this place is downtown, and near public transport, this is not a big issue. It is wheelchair accessible and takes reservations. Not exactly suitable for kids, it is a place for adults and groups to gather, as it is loud and plenty of TVs blast sporting events. There are an outside patio, free Wi-Fi, a daily happy hour, pinball machines, and other games.

The Pint serves breakfast/brunch, lunch, dinner and after-hours drinks. Working hours are from 11 AM to 2 AM from Monday to Friday and from 10 AM to 1 AM over the weekends. The menu served here is the classic pub fare, with wings and ribs being their big sellers.

This place has been reviewed online on Yelp, Trip Advisor, Google Reviews and Facebook. I’ve read these and created a list of the pros and cons of the Pint.

Pros:

  • The great pub food menu
  • 40 beers on tap
  • Plenty of TVs
  • Pinball and other games
  • Daily specials and happy hour

Cons:

  • Complaints about poor customer service
  • Notes on the slow service during parts of the day

The Pint was established in 2009, and this two-story place offers plenty to the Toronto community. The décor is loud and fitting for a place like this. There is a lot of wood on the walls, ceilings, and bar. The walls also have plenty of frames with various photos ranging from memorabilia to vintage photos. The 90 TVs on both floors that are carefully interwoven with the décor don’t immediately scream sports bar but offer access to the game to each customer.

The patio is accessible on the second floor, with metal chairs, high tables, and red and black umbrellas. This is a great place to enjoy a drink or two and listen to the DJ during warm weather.

The menu is interesting, with everything one can expect in a place like this. Wings fried to perfection served with one of 40 different flavours of sauces and dips. Starters like calamari, Pint sliders, poutine, cheese sticks, Pint fries, and rings; daily soup and salads; tacos; shareable plates like Niagara nachos, a falafel platter and a full Pint platter are on the menu. There are burgers and sandwiches in several varieties. Comfort food like sirloin steak, rib dinner, salmon, chicken fingers, fish & chips, and mac & cheese complete the menu.

The drinks menu is something else: 40 different beers on tap and a large selection of wines and cocktails. There is a daily offer of discounted shots, Wednesday is wings night, and every weekday from 5 PM to 9 PM is the Pint o’clock.
