Both hotels are just west of the exit off the 400. There are a few nearby places, including a Montana’s next to the Super 8 and a Jack Astors on Mapleview. If you’re looking for steak, Keg Steakhouse is on the other side of the highway, less than a 5-minute drive from either hotel.
Regarding breakfast, there’s a Cora near Mapleview and Veterans Drive.

If you’re taking the train up, it’s about a 15-20 minute walk from the Allandale Waterfront Go station to the Comfort Inn or a 5-minute car ride to any of the hotels here from the station.
The Comfort Inn and Allure Hotel are about a two-minute walk to the Beertown, Mandarin Restaurant and Noble Cuisine, a Thai and Japanese restaurant for food within walking distance.
The other hotels are far from restaurants, so consider getting a ride.

Just off the 400 at Dunlop, there are four budget hotels along Hart Drive. There are quite a few places within walking distance.

For desserts, see the Kawartha Dairy on Anne St. Want a beer without the fuss? Walk past the Kawartha Dairy to the Beer Store. In search of late-night Indian food? Visit Royal Paan in the same plaza on the other side of Anne St. Also on Anne St minute more walking is Tiff’s Restaurant and Sports Bar.
If you don’t mind a bit of a longer walk (20 minutes or so), you can go west on Dunlop street to St. Louis Bar & Grill and Wimpy’s Diner, which is a good breakfast spot.

This hotel is on the main strip of Barrie, and there are a lot of popular chain restaurants north of the Travelodge, within a 10-minute walk. This hotel is the closest if you want to stay close to Georgian College or Royal Victoria Hospital.

How To Get to Barrie from Toronto
To get to Barrie from Toronto is approximately a one to one-and-a-half-hour drive from Toronto, taking Hyway 400 north.

There is also a regular Go Train and Bus from Union Station to Allandale Waterfront GO. They run once an hour, seven days a week, from around 6 am to 10 pm. Depending on the time of day, there is either a Go Train the entire route, or you transfer to a Go Bus along the way. See the Go Transit website to plan your trip.
Of course, taking Uber or a cab is an option, but that will run you easily $100 one way.
Getting Around Barrie
If you’re driving from Toronto, one thing you’ll notice is there’s a lot more surface parking available. That said, if you’ll arrive in Barrie via bus or train and need to get around, Uber and cabs are available too.
Public transit is also available, though Presto cards only work when transferring from a Go Train to local transit. You can check routes and fare information on the Barrie Transit website. Day and Family Passes are available for around $8 or $9 daily.
